Art Land is a regular community arts night that provides a platform for artists at different stages of practice. It offers a juicy assortment of sharings, showings and sets - from the unfolding, in-process, and vulnerably fresh, to the rediscovered, revised and reiterated. Potential nudity, foul language, tears, rage, softness, reverence, irreverence and absurdity all welcome.
Each edition kicks off with an open mic/open stage sesh (roughly 10 slots of 5 minutes) for anyone who wants to share something they love doing. This is followed by scheduled slots for featured artists to share more developed material, with space for dancefloor and hang time. We also aim to showcase at least one visual or installation artist at each event.
Venue is a magical bushland community space in Monbulk (Wurundjeri land). Art Land happens roughly every two months, and is organised by Jenna, Max and Niki with support from a growing crew of good eggs.
